April in the Pacific Northwest means we embrace the rain. For The Real Medinas, movement is a non negotiable requirement rain or shine. We love heading to local farms to see the baby animals and letting the kids get their energy out in the mud. Choosing wellness for us means establishing rituals that keep our family grounded and active.
Building a Strong Foundation

As the kids get more active outside, we stay consistent with their daily nutrients. It gives us peace of mind knowing they are getting exactly what they need to grow strong while they explore the world around them. Our rituals start from the inside out.
The Power Pancake Ritual

A morning rush should not mean sacrificing nutrition. These pancakes are a staple in our home because they are quick, easy, and packed with the good stuff. The secret ingredient is our Nutrilite protein powder which adds 21g of high quality protein to every batch.
Ingredients
Quick heads up: The items listed below contain paid links that support our business! Thank you for supporting us!
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour
- 2 scoops Nutrilite Plant Protein Powder (21g)
- 1.5 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp Apple Sauce (Egg substitute)
- 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup Water
Instructions

Step 1. Whisk your dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Step 2. Add your water, oil, and apple sauce.
Step 3. Mix until just combined. A few lumps are perfectly fine.
Step 4. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat.
Step 5. Pour the batter onto the griddle and brown on both sides.
Step 6. Serve warm with your favorite fresh toppings.
Make It Your Own

The beauty of this recipe is how adaptable it is. If you want to switch things up, here are some of our favorite ways to customize the stack:
- Add fresh fruit like blueberries or sliced apples directly into the batter for extra fiber.
- Throw in a handful of dark chocolate chips for a special morning treat.
- If you prefer a different protein source, you can use real eggs instead of apple sauce to add even more protein and fluffiness to the texture.
- Swap the water for your favorite nut milk or dairy milk to create a creamier batter.
